Band Members

David Joseph started his career at the age of 4 singing in his father's church. At 12 he began to play drums then moved on to bass by the age of 18. David got into Jazz and Blues in the early 70's and has played professionally since 1982 with Robin Barrett and Fat Dogs Bark.


David is the Lead Singer and Bassist for Iguana Hat. He is mostly responsible for the writing and collaboration of the original material Iguana Hat performs and records. By the way, David also holds a degree in Engineering!

BMI recording artist, Jim "JJ" Johnson started playing professionally at the age of 12.

JJ toured the western USA and Canada with Santana, Elvin Bishop, B.O.C., Savoy Brown, Tina Turner, The Grateful Dead, Hot Tuna and John Hammond.

Jim can play and repair just about every instrument under the sun. In Iguana Hat he plays keyboards, saxophone, harmonica as well as lead and backing vocals.

Jim is a "1st take" talent and we are very lucky to have him living in Walla Walla and playing with Iguana Hat !

"Mondo" Mike Cook

"Mondo" Mike Cook started playing guitar at the age 9 and joined his first band at age 11. He began playing professionally with Tucannon in 1975 who recorded 3 LP's and a single.

Mike has more than 40 years of live performances and professional recording to his credit. Mike plays "scorching" lead and rhythm guitar as well as lead and backup vocals in Iguana Hat. Prepare to be impressed with his guitar playing.


"Maniac Mike" Hammond is the drummer for the band. His career has taken him through the gambit of musical styles from blues, country, easy listening and classic rock of the 80's.

Mike Hammond is the owner of Melody Muffler. He has been and is an important promoter of music in Walla Walla.  Visit his personal web site here.
